Stretching for thousands of miles as an early conduit of East-West exchange, the Silk Road carries with it a wealth of mysteries and heritage about the human world.  The music culture of this enchanting route has been the source of inspiration for musicians of different cultural background, and similarly, the present work showcases the musical properties, tonal character and performing techniques of various ethnic musical instruments by offering an eclectic interpretation of the different music characteristics of Central Asia and the Middle East, as well as elements of world music.  It evolves in an open structure, with its latent energy gradually pushing the orchestra to a glorious climax, like the sun shining on the Gobi Desert, igniting one’s passion and dreams!

The performance will run for about 1 hour 45 minutes including a 15-minute intermission.
